Last week, Richard took part in a Westminster Hall debate on the expansion of Luton Airport, which can be watched here.
Speaking after the debate, he said:
In the debate, I repeated my calls for the consultation into planned arrivals routes to be stopped so that affected residents and Parish Councils have the fullest opportunity for their concerns to be heard.
I also raised questions about the compatibility of ongoing expansion of the Airport with our net zero targets, as well as the conflict of interest associated with Luton Borough Council owning the land the airport stands on and consequently benefitting from significant rental income.
More information on the changing of flightpaths into Luton can be found here and here. Richard's calls for the consultation to be halted can be read here and here.
