Richard was extremely disappointed to hear recently that a coalition of Bedford Borough Labour, Liberal Democrat and Green Councillors had voted down a spending commitment that would have seen a £9m investment for local GP's, including the proposed Kempston Hub, £3.9m on refurbishment of Borough leisure sites, £25m for Bedford and Kempston Town Centre Development, and funding for the much-needed Muslim cemetery project.
Richard Fuller MP said:
I appreciate that opposition partries are still smarting that the people of Bedford Borough elected a Conservative Mayor, but playing childish political games to try to undermine the Mayor's efforts to reinvigorate the area do nothing but hurt the people of Bedford Borough who are desperate to see these improvements happen.
