A consultation on the UK Government’s Disability Action Plan (DAP) was opened by the Department for Work and Pensions on 18 July 2023 and closes on 6 October 2023.
The DAP will set out the immediate action the UK Government will take in 2023 and 2024 to improve disabled people’s lives, as well as laying the foundations for longer term change. The results of this consultation will inform the final plan.
Plans include raising awareness of life-changing tech for disabled people, mandatory disability awareness training for taxi drivers, autism-friendly programmes for cultural and heritage sites and are designed by Ministers to make the UK a more inclusive society in the long term.
Richard Fuller MP said:
I would encourage as many disabled people, disability organisations and other interested parties as possible to take part in this consultation to ensure their voices are heard before the consultation closes on October 6th.
