Network Rail have provided a couple of updates on Biggleswade train station.

Firstly, the long-awaited work to deliver step-free access at the station, which started this week, has been scheduled to complete and come into service in December of this year. At the moment Network Rail are unable to give any more detail than that as they are waiting for a revised workplan from the contractor but I have asked to be kept informed and I will update as and when I receive more concrete timings.
I also chased Network Rail about the staircase failure last week that led to the platform closures which caused so much disruption to travellers. The temporary scaffolding fix will be replaced by purpose made brackets this week and other brackets which have been identified as at risk of failure will all be replaced before the end of next month.
