Recently, Richard Fuller MP visited Flamingo Flowers in Sandy, one of the world’s leading growers and suppliers of fresh cut flowers and house and garden plants.
Speaking after the visit, Richard said:
I had the pleasure of visiting Flamingo Flowers in Sandy with Group Technical and Procurement Director Ian Michell.
Flamingo Flowers is an exceptional company with not just a strong commitment to ESG (Environment, Social and Governance), but a long-established pedigree of following through with delivery of significant improvements to the communities in which they operate, especially in Africa where the bulk of the flowers are grown. This includes delivery on net zero, building and staffing schools and maternity facilities, supporting important conservation projects, paying well above average wages, and conducting training and development programmes to upskill workers to be able to take on higher paid roles.
A very inspiring company and a blueprint for how a successful, 21st Century business should be run.
