During the UK Infrastructure Bank Bill debate in Parliament last week, Richard addressed some of the amendments put down in the Bill. The Bill will formalise the UK infrastructure Bank that will help finance our transition to Net Zero including home heating, transport, energy generation and other projects.
The Bill will complete the Bank’s set up as an operationally independent institution and give it the power to lend directly to local authorities . It will also support the Bank’s operational independence by setting out clear accountability for how it is to be run.
Richard Fuller MP said:
I was very pleased to see the Infrastructure Bank Bill receive its third reading on Wednesday.
The Bank will now have a firmer basis for attracting private capital to important long term investments required to meet our statutory Net Zero obligations.

The Bill had its report stage and third reading on Wednesday 1 February and was amended on report. The Bill will be returned to the Lords for further consideration.
