On Monday evening Richard spoke in the Committee Stage debate on the Finance Bill on Corporation tax and capital allowances.
Richard Fuller, Member of Parliament for North East Bedfordshire and member of the Business Select Committee said:
In my contribution I stressed that corporation tax is essential, however balancing boosting public finances against the risks of stifling innovation, investment and employment must be carefully managed to achieve the optimal position.
I also called for a robust digital tax regime to tackle the inequities of digital multinationals deriving substantial profits through the exploitation of consumer data but paying no tax on those profits in the countries originating that data.
In closing, I asked the Minister to consider incentives for companies tasked with helping to deliver our net zero goals to ensure that our ambitious targets can be met.
