Richard has now received a response from East West Rail further to his letter raising concerns following the Cleat Hill gas explosion about their proposed ground investigations in Ravensden.
Richard Fuller MP said:
This is a reassuring response from David Hughes, CEO of East West Rail.
To initiate the drilling of boreholes in close proximity to Cleat Hill, irrespective of their relatively shallow depth, would be irresponsible and reckless until we know more about the scale of the gas reservoir in that area.
I'm pleased that EWR have delayed their planned exploratory drilling and hope the 3-month delay will allow us to secure the answers we need to reassure local residents in Ravensden.
