Since being contacted at the end of last month by RNA Energy Ltd about their plans for a large solar farm between Keysoe, Little Staughton and Pertenhall, Richard has met with the Parish Councils directly affected by the proposals and RNA Energy itself.
Richard Fuller MP said:
I am grateful to the Parish Councils in Dean and Shelton, Little Staughton, Pertenhall and Swineshead and Bolnhurst and Keysoe for equipping me with a wide range of questions for my first meeting with East Park Energy.
The proposed 2,000+ acre solar farm would alter radically the landscape of North Bedfordshire and is of such a scale that it would not “blend into the countryside”, it would “become the countryside”. These were among the many concerns and questions that were raised in the four meetings I held with the Parishes most directly affected by the East Park Energy proposals.
I also met the team of executives behind the proposal. This was an initial meeting and helpful for me to hear their proposal directly. The timeline was laid out with a final decision not expected until 2025. I have a series of questions to follow up and the RNA Energy team will be responding in due course and I will publish this Q and A on my website and my facebook page. Please do follow me on facebook here or sign up to my newsletter here.
If approved, this project would be a dramatic change to our natural environment. It is important that all residents in the area are made aware of this, so please share this post with any of your friends in the area and ask them to contact their Parish Council or the local residents’ Facebook group for the “Residents - Proposed Solar Farm, North Beds”. I will continue to provide updates on my Facebook page and via my weekly email newsletter as things develop.
