On Wednesday at Prime Minister's Questions, Richard asked the Prime Minister about the oversight of regulators such as Ofwat and Ofgem.
Commenting, Richard Fuller MP said:
More than a quarter of the economic output of this country is in sectors overseen by some of our major regulators, such as Ofwat and Ofgem.
Historically there has been little oversight of the performance of these regulators and yet, functioning effectively, with consumer's best interests at their core, these regulators should be key contributors towards UK economic growth.
I asked the Prime Minister what he can do to address that historical oversight and enable regulators to play their part in ensuring economic growth.
Richard's question and the Prime Minister's answer can be watched here.
The question follows further contributions Richard made in the House of Commons earlier this month calling for better oversight of OFGEM and other regulators.
