This week, Richard Fuller MP was appointed to the post of Shadow Chief Secretary to the Treasury.
Speaking after Shadow Cabinet on Tuesday, he said:
It was a pleasure to join Kemi Badenoch at the first meeting of the Shadow Cabinet.
Our primary task is to hold the government to account and there are few roles as significant to that task as the role I have been asked to take.
The Chief Secretary of the Treasury “signs off” the funding for all government departments. As the new “shadow” I am keen to get stuck in to holding them to account for the huge increases in taxes and borrowing to fuel more state spending.
Let’s get to work.
