Last week, there was a Govia Thameslink Railway (GTR) drop-in at Parliament for MPs where Richard spoke with Chris Fowler who is GTR's Network Operations and Performance Director.
Speaking afterwards, Richard Fuller MP said:
The positive news from the session is that GTR are adding a fast train at rush hours from June as a first step in a build back of services. A 6:35am train from Peterborough with a return service at 17:42 from Kings Cross will bring some relief to Biggleswade commuters.
But I made the point that commuters in Sandy and Arlesey are also “living on the edge” of their ability to work because of the infrequency of services and the unreliability of those services that do run.
GTR have said they are increasing the number of drivers with the route knowledge to drive the route. Let’s see if that helps.
But what GTR need to do is make this fast train stop at Sandy and Arlesey as well and then introduce a full day, three trains an hour service.
