The A428 Black Cat to Caxton Gibbet Road Improvement scheme application was granted development consent (planning permission) by the Secretary of State for Transport on 18th August 2022.
The application involves the dualling of the A428 between the A1/A421 Black Cat Junction and the A428/A1198 Caxton Gibbet Junction to high quality dual carriageway. Both existingβ―roundabouts will beβ―upgradedβ―to modern, free-flowing junctionsβ―and a brand new 10-mile dual carriageway will be built.
Construction is due to start at the end of this year, with the road opening in 2026.
